The WWE ran an injury storyline for Dean Ambrose at last night's edition of Monday Night RAW and it was likely done to write him off of television in order for him to film a movie.

Ambrose has been scheduled to film WWE Studios' production Lockdown soon, which is why Seth Rollins hit the Curb Stomp on him through cinderblocks to close out the WWE's flagship show Monday night during their Falls Count Anywhere Match.
After the episode, the WWE put up a kayfabe update on Ambrose and said that he refused medical attention and then went missing after he escaped from WWE trainers. WWE.com also noted that Ambrose had sustained extensive head and spine trauma, likely to prolong his absence from television for the film.

The WWE included comments from company doctor Chris Amann on the website.
"As you saw during the match with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, toward the end of the match, Dean had sustained what we thought was pretty significant head and cervical spine trauma, so as a precaution we immobilized his neck, placed him on a stretcher and removed him from the ring area and brought him backstage," Amann told the site. "At the time of bringing him backstage, he was responsive and was refusing transport to a local medical facility for further evaluation. He had removed the straps and surgical collar, said he refused to go and we haven't seen him since."

Regarding Rollins, it is unknown now what program he will go into now that his feud with Ambrose in on hold due to Ambrose's absence, but he recently spoke to AZCentral.com to promote Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings in Arizona and he discussed how much control he had over his character.
"I haven't run into too many hiccups as far as creative control," Rollins said. "The guys here are really talented and they do amazing, original programming 52 weeks a year. It's really unprecedented as far as live television is concerned."
"Mr. Money in the Bank" also spoke about how much of his real-life self comes through in his character.
"It's a lot of me with a little bit of WWE added in," he said. "They're [experts] at creating brands and marketing brands. We brainstormed and developed and turned Seth Rollins into the kind of cool persona I really enjoy being a part of. You have to have some of you in that."
With Ambrose gone, Rollins will probably move on to a new feud as Ambrose goes on to film the movie and is expected to be off of WWE television for some time.
