Fresh off his bout with Jake Paul, Mike Tyson may have another familiar face stepping into the ring-- none other than his legendary rival, Evander Holyfield.

The 62-year-old boxing icon, whose last official fight dates back to 2011, took to Instagram on Monday to throw down the gauntlet. Accompanying a mockup flyer, Holyfield captioned the post, "The fans want it ???? #unfinishedbusiness," reigniting hopes for a long-awaited trilogy fight.

Holyfield, who boasts a record of 44-10, defeated Tyson famously twice in their storied careers. According to TMZ, the first clash in 1996 ended with a TKO victory for Holyfield.

"I love you brother, but the trilogy is our friendship," Tyson replied to Holyfield's post.

Their infamous 1997 rematch was recalled worldwide because Tyson made history by biting off Holyfield's ear, where fans wondered if a third bout would ever see the light of day.

Plans for a trilogy in 2021 emerged, but negotiations failed to work out. Holyfield went on to appear in an exhibition bout against Vitor Belfort, disappointing fans in the process as the two legends slipped through their fingers without getting a closure.

Is Tyson Ready for Another Round?

At 58, Tyson does not appear to want to retire his gloves. Even after Friday's bout with Jake Paul, Tyson has indicated that he might have another blockbuster fight, calling out the brother of Jake, Logan Paul.

The third battle between Tyson and Holyfield may be the perfect last for the two greatest boxing warriors. As their rivalry and huge fan interest make the bout very attractable again to the set of viewers it may entail, will it finally happen this time?

If it fails, Lennox Lewis is just around the corner, waiting.

Of course, Tyson's response is still unknown. But one thing is for sure: fans want to see these icons settle the score once and for all in the ring.

The only question now is: Will they finally deliver the epic trilogy that the world has been waiting for?
