Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Lawyers Seek To Have Evidence Thrown Out in Odin Lloyd Case [VIDEO]

Attorneys for former NFL star Aaron Hernandez appeared in court on Monday seeking to have some of the evidence against their client in the murder murder of one-time associate Odin Lloyd thrown out.

According to ESPN, lawyers for the 24-year-old Hernandez asked a Massachusetts criminal court judge to exclude video surveillance footage retrieved from a security system at Hernandez's North Attleborough mansion because of the faulty way in which it was obtained. Hernandez's legal team is also seeking to have cellphone and other electronically gathered evidence ruled inadmissible.

Prosecutors deemed all of the evidence as "powerful" and argued that it should be presented before jurors whenever the former New England Patriots star goes to trial. Investigators have hinted they believe Hernandez killed Lloyd because of his knowledge of other violent crimes he is suspected of having been involved in.

Hernandez was also scheduled to appear in court on Monday on charges alleging that since he's been locked up at the Bristol county Jail he has threatened to kill a guard and his family. In addition, Hernandez was also recently indicted in a 2012 drive-by shooting in downtown Boston that left two men dead.

Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado were both killed in the early morning shooting, in which witnesses have reportedly identified Hernandez as the triggerman. According to police, the incident was sparked by one of them men accidentally spilling a drink on Hernandez and not apologizing.
