Tom Thibodeau is rumored to be angered by the fact rookie coaches Derek Fisher and Steve Kerr are both set to earn more than him in their first seasons, potentially leading to him wanting out in Chicago.
The former NBA Coach of the Year is slated to make $4.35 million this season with the Bulls while both Fisher and Kerr recently netted five-year, $25 million deals with the Knicks and Warriors respectively.
Tom Thibodeau interested in Knicks?
Though the 56-year-old Thibodeau has led the Bulls to an average of 51 wins in his four seasons as coach, the last two without All-Star guard Derrick Rose, management and the coach have been at odds.
Much of the acrimony dates back to the 2012 season, when the Bulls inexplicably moved to terminate assistant coach and Thibodeau confidante Ron Adams. Thibodeau was also angered this season when the already undermanned team dealt veteran forward Luol Deng to Cleveland without so much as getting a rotation player back in return.
Tom Thibodeau feuding with Bulls?
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Thibodeau recently signed a four-year, $17.5 million extension with the Bulls that takes him through 2016-17. But if he ever decides he wants out of town prior to that, the 2010-11 Coach of the Year award winner would have no shortage of interested takers.
Lakers star guard Kobe Bryant recently went on record in asserting he would love to play for Thibodeau and the team has been rumored to have interest in him.
