Say this about the Houston Rockets, their front office sure seems to have ambitions.
One season after going all in to land top free-agent Dwight Howard the Rockets are again poised to put themselves in play to be major players this summer as well. According to the Houston Chronicle, the team is working long and hard to unload the massive contracts of Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik, all so they can flip that money and be able to chase the likes of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dirk Nowitzki over the next several months.

As part of the master plan, the team was rumored this week to be entertaining the thought of allowing promising young forward Chandler Parson to become a restricted free agent this summer, which would free up the money to be to sign one of the aforementioned stars. The Rockets reportedly would then work to bring back Parsons by matching any offer he might receive.

But it all starts with being able to deal the tandem of Lin and Asik, both of whom themselves were previously whisked to town as key free agent signings.
In the end, the Rockets seem convinced they are just one top-tier player away from adding to a core that already includes James Harden and Dwight Howard that would allow them to be legitimate Western Conference and NBA title contenders.
