Could the NBA Gods be any kinder to Lamar Odom?
After being out of the league since 2012 and once being saddled with the reputation of a hardcore drug abuser and chronic cheater in his marriage to reality TV star Khloe Kardashian, the 34-year-old Queens native has inked a potential multi-year deal with his hometown New York Knicks and legendary coach Phil Jackson.

According to TMZ Sports, the deal allows the Knicks to work with the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner over the summer in hopes he still has enough to make the team's roster next season. Odom last played for the Clippers in 2012-13, averaging four points and six rebounds.
Previously, he spent five seasons playing under Jackson with the Lakers, winning two championships and the Sixth Man Award during the 2010-11 season.

In more recent times, Odom has spent as much time in the tabloids as on the court. His four-year marriage to the 29-year old Keeping Up With the Kardashian star has spiraled out of control, ending with her filing for divorce last December after he was arrested for DUI and at least three women stepped forward to claim they had engaged in affairs with him.
Odom briefly played for Laboral Kuxta of the Spanish pro league earlier this year, but returned to the states after just two games when he suffered a back injury.
