Johnny Manziel seeking to trademark, name, jersey number, launch clothing line? [VIDEO]

Johnny Manziel has filed legal documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to exclusively trademark his name in an anticipation of launching a Manziel clothing line.

According to TMZ, Manziel is requesting the rights to various permutations of his name and his No. 2 jersey. The website reports among the names are JIIM, JFF, JMAN2, The House That Johnny Built and Manziiel. The line reportedly will also offer shoes, shirts and baby clothing.

TMZ adds the application also seeks to grant the former Heisman Trophy winner the right to use the proposed logos on athletic shirts, sleepwear, women's athletic tops, shorts, skirts, gloves and fire-retardant onesies for infants. The application is rumored to still be pending.

Manziel remains locked in an ongoing legal battle with an investment company over the rights to the name Johnny Football, according to TMZ the company moved to trademark the name while Manziel was still a star at Texas A&M.

The 21-year-old Manziel is expected to be among the first players and quarterbacks selected in next month's NFL draft, and perhaps the No. 1 overall pick.
