Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN, the No. 4 Syracuse Orange (25-2, 12-2 ACC) will try to shake off two straight losses when they battle the Maryland Terrapins (15-12, 7-7 ACC) at the Comcast Center in College Park. Live stream the game for free here; Syracuse fans can listen to the radio broadcast on The Score 1260, while Terps fans can hear the action on WJZ-AM 1300.
With March Madness closing in, the Orange suddenly seem vulnerable. After dropping a shocker to ACC also-ran Boston College, the 'Cuse dropped a tough one on the road to Duke in which legendary coach Jim Boeheim uncharacteristically lost his cool and got ejected with less than a minute to go in the game.
"This end of the year is important for us," Boeheim said. "We flew through obviously and escaped a few times. We knew the end of the year would be hard and that's fine.
"These games help you. This will help you. This was a tournament game. This will help you. We played slow and you see that in tournaments. We've learned a lot and we'll learn a lot more. We know how tough our next few games are."
Even though they're struggling lately, Syracuse's woes are nothing like Maryland's. The Terrapins final ACC campaign has been rocky, with hopes of a berth in the Big Dance all but gone. Still head coach Mark Turgeon isn't disappointed in his team at all. They rebounded from rough losses to Virginia and Duke by stomping Wake Forest by 11 points.
"I'm proud of my group," Turgeon said. "We had some guys step up tonight. Nick Faust was terrific. I thought his passing was great and so was his defense. He scored, defended, made free throws, rebounded and did a lot of good things to help us win tonight."
