Floyd Mayweather Jr. Next Fight: Manny Pacquiao September Rumor 'A Lie', Amir Khan Signed Contract For May, Ready To 'Shock World' ? [VIDEO]

After reports blew up earlier this week about Floyd Mayweather Jr. having a fight with Manny Pacquiao "already done" for September, "Money" has come out and refuted the talk personally.

78 Sports TV, a YouTube channel claimed that a source who previously dished info about impending Robert Guerrero and Canelo Alvarez fights had informed them Manny was a sure thing for Mayweather's second 2014 bout.

"Great news in the world of boxing. He [the source] is telling me that Floyd and Manny Pacquiao will be fighting in 2014 guaranteed and it's already done," the anchor says. "Everything else that you will see will be just theatrics from here on out. But the fight is already done."

Mayweather has put the kibosh on all that, telling FightHype.com the Pacquiao rumors are absolutely not true. "All the stories you hear about Pacquiao is a lie," said Mayweather. "It's a lie. It's not true. If it didn't come from Leonard's [Ellerbe] mouth, my mouth, or Al's [Haymon] mouth, it's not true."

All the discussion around Pacquiao revolved around a September date, while Floyd has yet to name an opponent in May. While Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana appear to be the clear and only candidates, Khan is claiming to have signed a contract already.

"I am the one who signed the contract," Khan said. "I have signed my part of the contract. If he wants to fight Amir Khan, then he should sign it."

"Khan is definitely one of the leading contenders for the fight," Stephen Espinoza, ShowTime executive vice president, said. "I know Amir Khan wants the fight. I expect an announcement by mid-January or the end of January."

Khan's trainer Virgil Hunter thinks Khan has the tools to "shock" Mayweather if he agrees to the bout. "Amir's going to have to be capable of doing a number of things at different times. He's going to have to be able to stay within the flow of the fight and to anticipate and feel the flow of the fight and to make the necessary adjustments at any given moment.

"Amir is going to have to put it together and to be clicking on all cylinders, and if he does, then he can shock the world."
