Boston College is the main attraction in this game, the V100 Bowl, by virtue of the man lining up in the backfield, Heisman Trophy finalist Andre Williams. Williams' stock was ruined by a 29-yard effort against Syracuse in the season finale, but over the three previous games he had compiled 897 yards. In that stretch, he had a 339-yard effort against North Carolina State.

He still finished the regular season with 2,102 yards and 17 touchdowns, and wasn't worried about snagging the Heisman. "The only opportunity we really missed is being able to get that eighth win against Syracuse," Williams said. "I really wasn't worried about Heisman polls." His phenomenal 2013 campaign marked just the 16th 2,000-yard rushing season in NCAA history.

Arizona doesn't have a slouch in their backfield either. Ka'Deem Carey was the Pac-12 offensive player of the year ran for 1,716 yards and matched Williams' 17 touchdowns this season. He also keyed a big upset of then-No. 5 Oregon. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, they were bashed by Arizona State in the season finale.

"It shouldn't define our team because we had some nice wins," said coach Rich Rodriguez. BC head coach Steve Addazio is excited to be in this game, after reversing a 2-10 season in 2012.

"We're excited to be playing in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl," said Addazio. "Our players are excited and can't wait to get started. It's a good challenge for our team and it will be a thrilling game."
