Getting traded for eight-time All-Star Max Scherzer could indicate a player's potential.
That is the reasoning the New York Mets used to explain why they let go of Scherzer in exchange for Luisangel Acuña.

The 21-year-old is not a stranger when it comes to pressure, as he has been dealing with that ever since his brother Ronald of the Atlanta Braves became famous.

The younger Acuña sees his brother both as an idol and motivation. He wants to reach the level Ronald has reached.
"I look up to my brother," the Venezuelan said through an interpreter.
"I've obviously learned a lot from him being a superstar in the game. I consider him being a part of my career because he's always been there for me."
Ronald joined the Braves in 2018 and became an All-Star in 2019. He was selected in the last three All-Star games. He is also a one-time NL stolen base leader and took home the Silver Slugger Award in 2019.
Luisangel's potential and growth
Luisangel is no. 42 in the Top 100 Prospects of MLB. His hit is rated at 55, power at 50, and arm at 55.
The website wrote:
"Combining solid speed with savvy on the bases, Acuña swiped 126 bags in 151 attempts during his two-plus years in full-season ball before the trade."
General manager Billy Eppler is bullish on the development of Acuña in the long run.
"He's got an extremely high internal clock, a lot of agility, great footwork, arm strength, just a lot of acumen to play in the middle of the diamond," he said.
