Warriors: CP3 Can Unlock Jonathan Kuminga Like He Did With Deandre Ayton – Draymond Green

Jonathan Kuminga can reach a new level this coming season now that he has a new point guard in Chris Paul.

Draymond Green believes in this as he comments on the Golden State Warriors acquisition of the point guard.

The 2017 Defensive Player of the Year elaborated on his take by looking at how DeAndre Ayton put up greater numbers when they were together in the Phoenix Suns.

"I think Chris Paul will completely unlock Jonathan Kuminga and his growth," Green said during an appearance in Podcast P with Paul George.

"CP is great with young guys. Deandre Ayton looked like a bus before CP came to Phoenix. No disrespect to Ayton - more so a nod to CP. What he will do for Jonathan Kuminga and unlocking Kuminga, is huge."

The Warriors received Paul in the trade with the Washington Wizards for Jordan Poole.

Ayton's numbers were not that different from before CP3 and after, but many believe that he has started learning to play meaningful minutes with Paul in tow.

Chris Paul for needed shift

Warriors retained its key players from its dynasty. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Green remain as the core.

Chris Paul comes in as a key component for a much-needed shift, according to coach Steve Kerr.

"I think everybody in the organization sensed that [need for shift]," Kerr said in an interview with Tim Kawakami of The Athletic.

"And it feels like we've made a pretty significant shift without giving up our identity and our sense of who we are as a team. I think all in all, it's a very positive shift."
