Adrien "The Problem" Broner is known for mouthing off anytime a microphone or reporter is in front of him, so in his latest round of questioning before his December 14th clash with Marcos "El Chino" Maidana, Broner didn't disappoint.
"The Problem" indicated Maidana's prodigious punching power will not be a problem when the two men step into the ring, and hinted his shoulder roll defense may frustrate the knockout artist.
"The guys he knocked out, he was able to hit. He's got to hit me first," Broner said. He's got to hit me first and he's never been hit by me. So you know, we'll all see what happens on December 14th."
Broner is unquestionably the quicker of the two combatants, both offensively and defensively. He plans on utilizing that against the heavy-handed challenger, as well as a game plan specifically designed for "El Chino."
"I don't fight nobody the same," Broner said. "He's got to show me. He has to make me respect his power and his boxing skills. If, you never know, when I make my adjustments in the ring December 14th, then I'll do whatever I have to do to get my victory. But until then we just staying sharp."
Maidana's camp has made it a point to highlight Broner's issues with stretches of inactivity in the ring, and cautioned those jumping to pick Broner that he has flaws. Broner dismissed those claims of overwhelming activity being the key to a Maidana victory though, saying that Paulie Malignaggi tried that approach to no avail.
"You know Paulie's a good, hell of a fighter, throws a lot of shots but couldn't hit me. He couldn't hit me with nothing flush. Maidana, he's definitely a proven, hard-hitting puncher, but he got to hit me. It ain't like I'm gonna let him hit me."
