Tonight at 9:15 p.m. ET the No. 22 Michigan Wolverines (5-2) will contend with the Cameron Crazies in Durham, North Carolina when they take on the 10th-ranked Duke Blue Devils (6-2) on ESPN in NCAA action that can be live streamed free here. Michigan fans can listen to the game on WOMC-FM, while Duke fans can listen in on 620 The Buzz AM.
The Wolverines pose a serious threat to snap one of the most impressive streaks in college basketball; Duke has won 106 consecutive home victories over non-conference opponents. Michigan's leading scorer Nik Stauskas could miss the game with a sprained ankle, meaning freshman guard Zak Irvin will have to step up again.
Michigan coach John Beilien said of Irvin, "He's one of those rare shooters. Zak can shoot and defend. And really those are his two things. Our defense picked up a lot." The Wolverines also have star big man Mitch McGary back, who is averaging 8.2 points and 7.8 rebounds. Duke does not have a traditional big man this year, so McGary could pose a serious threat on the low block.
The Blue Devils are coming off a tough loss against No. 2-ranked Arizona, and have dropped two games against elite competition. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski isn't hanging his head or doubting his team however. "We played a game worthy of winning," Krzyzewski said after losing to Arizona.
"I thought we played a lot better than we did against Kansas. I think my team has improved. There is no shame in losing to Kansas or Arizona. Part of us getting better is getting older together."
Leading scorer and rebounder Jabari Parker had his first rough game against the Wildcats, and has vowed to bounce back strong at home.
"Getting the experience of playing against bigger guys. It's no excuse for them to have the advantage because it is not necessarily a game that requires height," Parker said. "It's just about getting back in the gym and work on it."
