English super middleweight Carl Froch barely escaped his last bout with George Groves with his two belts, and despite a thrilling fight will not be stepping back in the ring with him.
"To finish in a massive fight would be better than going over old ground. It would be an honor to fight in Las Vegas because I've never done that under the big lights with all the glitz and the glamour on the main stage," Froch said. Froch then made it clear he wants another opportunity to face the second ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Andre Ward, to whom he lost in Atlantic City in 2011.
"I'm not motivated by money, I'm motivated by securing a legacy. Before I retire Andre Ward is on my hit list," Froch said.
If Ward is not available to him, Froch indicated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is someone he would consider as well. "Chavez is also a great fighter. I'll have to speak to my promoter and trainer and see whatever makes the most sense."
While those fights would be major events for Froch, a rematch with Groves makes sense as well. Groves was ahead of Froch on the scorecards and had really given him myriad problems until getting stopped in the ninth round. Froch dismissed it, however, and boasted a rematch would end in quicker fashion. "If the rematch happens, I will stop him in six."
"As much as the fans want to see it reach a natural conclusion against George Groves, with me knocking him out again, I feel personally I gave him his chance and he blew it," Froch continued. "He can't cut it at world level."
