NOTRE DAME vs STANFORD Watch Live Stream FREE Online & Listen: Live Coverage from Stanford Stadium

Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET the No. 25 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-3) will try for their ninth victory in California today against the Stanford Cardinal (9-2, 7-2 Pac-12) on Fox in action that can be live streamed here for free. Irish fans can listen to WVFI Radio, while Stanford fans can tune in to KNBR 1050 AM.

Stanford seems to be out of the title picture this season, while Notre Dame has failed to meet the lofty standards that come after appearing in the national championship game a year ago, but a win in this rivalry game could be a season-maker.

"I remind people that we don't go through all the ups and downs that maybe even the media and the fans go through because we keep our minds on our jobs," Stanford coach David Shaw said Tuesday. "If we win a big game, they don't cancel the next week. If we lose a game, they don't cancel the next week."

Stanford still is in the driver's seat to win the Pac-12, even though the journey has not been easy at all times. "It's been very emotional," said wide receiver Ty Montgomery.

"You definitely learn a lot of lessons. It's kind of a blessing to experience some highs and some lows. Depending on how you look at it, you can always take something positive out of something negative. It's been a good experience to be able to learn from that and be able to fight and bounce back."

Shaw said tonight's showdown will not be billed to his team as revenge for last season, or some kind of grudge match. Last year Stanford dropped a nailbiter that was a major factor in Notre Dame reaching the title game.

"We don't go back in our rooms and cry, which for some reason is what people want us to do, because that's what some people do," Shaw said. "When you have a stake in it, and you're in it, you take the lessons learned and you go forward."
