Torrey Smith could be one hot commodity at the beginning of the free agency market today. After being released by the San Francisco 49ers a few days ago, several teams have already shown interest in him. But it looks like that he'll be reunited again with the Baltimore Ravens next season.

Torrey Smith, who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, was acquired by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 from the Ravens and signed him to a five-year, $40 million. The 49ers expects Smith will boost the offense of the team just like he did with the Ravens but it seems expectation was not met.

The San Francisco 49ers had an anemic offense as they ranked 32nd in terms of passing yards stats (181.9) and 27th in total average points (19.3) per game. Earlier reports caught Smith saying that 'it wasn't fun' playing for the 49ers the past few years and it seems that he's right. Now, Smith time with the 49ers has come to an end.

According to NFL.com, Torrey Smith was officially released by the San Francisco 49ers after the team decides to have a rebuild on their roster. But aside from the team roster, the 49ers organization also made a shake up to their front office as they hire John Lynch as the new general manager and Kyle Shanahan as the new head coach.

Torrey Smith only had 53 excellent reception for 930 yards and 7 touchdowns in two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, way below the expectation from him, as he struggled to get his form going. But part of the blame also goes to the 49ers as they fail to maximize his talent by playing him limited minutes. And now that he is a free agent, latest news are saying that he might be returning to the team who drafted him.

According to ESPN, Torrey Smith could be on his way back to the Baltimore Ravens after his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers ended. When Smith was asked about the possible reunion, he never confirms it but he said that he is open to coming back to the team.

And why not? Torrey Smith had the best four season with the Baltimore Ravens as he already won the Super Bowl title with the team in his second year in the league. He still considers the Ravens his 'family' and it seems that the team has no ill feeling towards him even he left the team two years ago.
