The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be one of the teams that will be very active in the free agency market that will start tomorrow. And it seems that they going after one of the best available free agents today, former Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

DeSean Jackson became a free agent after his contract with the Washington Redskins expired last season. Drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2008 NFL Draft, Jackson is one the guys who made a name for himself in the league. The 30-year old wide receiver has been voted three times to the Pro Bowl making him an interesting player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had decent performance last season as they almost made it to the playoffs. The Bucs and Detroit Lions have an identical 9-7 win-loss record but due to the higher quotient, the Lions was able to clinch the 8th and last spot in the NFC division. And now, they are focusing their attention to DeSean Jackson as a possible acquisition for next season.

According to NFL.com, months after Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston made a bold statement that he wants to play alongside DeSean Jackson, it appears that the Bucs will make it happen. The team is said to be making a 'strong push' to acquire Jackson and try to make up from last season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also made it clear that their interest to DeSean Jackson is 'real and legitimate' that seems to be signifying imminent transfer could happen. Jackson had 56 reception, 4 touchdowns and 1,005 receiving yards last season with the Redskins. He also leads the NFL last season in yards per catch (17.9) that could very well useful for the Bucs.

ESPN also reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers seem to be dead set to get DeSean Jackson and just waiting for free agency to open tomorrow to sign him. Aside from the Bucs, several teams have expressed their interest Jackson but those teams were never mentioned.

However, the report further stated that the Washington Redskins have met with DeSean Jackson's agent in the NFL combine suggesting the team is making a late push to re-sign him. But it looks like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could still be the winner of Jackson's free agency sweepstakes.
