Tonight's big storyline will be the Chiefs' ferocious pass rush against the surgical Peyton Manning, who will be operating with sore ankles. Manning is going to play through the injury, but missed practice all week while healing up.

"It's certainly my preference to be out (at practice), but I'm trying to do what's best for the team in order for me to get healthy," Manning said.

With Denver's offensive line beset by a slew of injuries this season, interim head coach Jack Del Rio said protecting the brains of the offense is of the highest priority.

"We're definitely on high alert in wanting to protect our quarterback. We didn't do it as well as we could (against San Diego), and we have an even greater challenge this week in the team that's sacked quarterbacks more than anyone in this league."

The Chiefs are dealing with controversy heading into this matchup, as number one receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested earlier this week and found to have marijuana on him during a traffic stop. He is still going to be able to play, though, as head coach Andy Reid addressed the matter.

'"There are rules and regulations put in place and we'll abide by the rules and regulations, and we'll make sure we take all of the information that comes out as it goes through the process," Reid said. "That's where we're going with it."
