Dwayne Johnson, more famously known as The Rock, is the biggest star in the world today and it is a big deal when he compliments a WWE superstar. In a recent post on Instagram, The Rock put over Kevin Owens big time and he revealed how he's a big fan of the WWE Universal champion.

The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) was backstage on Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles to film scenes for the movie "Fighting With My Family". His company Seven Bucks Productions is producing the film based on the life and family of current WWE superstar Paige. "The Great One" came out before and after the show to give the fans in attendance some memorable moments. He even gave former WWE superstar CM Punk a call to the delight of the fans and the dismay of both Vince McMahon and Triple H, per PW Insider.

Since The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) was backstage on Raw, it was an opportunity for many current WWE superstars to talk and catch up with the wrestling legend. One of them was Owens, who posed for a photo with The Rock wearing the suit he used during his intense segment to open Raw.

In an Instagram post later, The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) had a lot of praise for KO and he put over the reigning WWE Universal champion. He told a story of how he became a fan of Owens five years ago after watching his matches on YouTube while he was still on the independent scene as Kevin Steen.

The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) referred to Owens as a "badass" and he was hoping that the WWE signed him. The WWE eventually listened to "The People's Champ" and they signed KO to a contract in 2014, as reported by Sportskeeda. He ended up winning the NXT championship quickly and making his main roster debut against John Cena.

Owens went on to win the WWE Universal championship last August 2016 with the help of Triple H. He is set to defend the title against Bill Goldberg at Fastlane. But more importantly, Owens has already gained Dwayne Johnson or The Rock's respect despite being in the company for just three years.

"The Prizefighter" does not have the typical look of a WWE superstar but he has proven that he belongs. He's one of the best wrestlers in the world at the moment and his microphone skills are on par with the best of them.
