One of the world's largest tech giant Microsoft is expected to launch a faster and more efficient model of its Surface Book before the end of this year. Intel recently released its seventh generation Kaby Lake processor so it is almost irresistible that Microsoft will look to incorporate such a desirable component in its current line of Surface devices.

As per the reports, the Redmond-based company is highly rumored to release a kaby Lake processor powered Surface Book before the end of the year. The current Surface Book i7 is only a few months old but it has already become outdated, as it is powered by Intel's sixth generation processing chipset.

The new model may offer a 13.5-inch display and feature a 4K resolution which will supposedly include a better graphics that improves playback of 4K video and 3D graphics. As stated in The Verge, Microsoft shared a provocative photo, showing off what appeared to be a version of the Surface Book 2 on its official Instagram Account.

However, Windows blogger Rudy Huyn tweeted that it was a part of the promotional campaign for the first generation Surface Book. This minor controversy might actually be good news for fans looking at the black Surface Book 2.

Intel has designed its new processing chipset Kaby Lake to be more efficient at power consumption and effectively faster as compared to its sixth generation processing chipset Skylake. Any device which makes a shift from Skylake to Kaby Lake will offer much faster processing and a longer battery life.

That's why Microsoft does not want to pass up the opportunity of implementing Intel's latest chipset Kaby Lake in its current Surface Book. As expressed in the Forbes, Microsoft's next generation Surface Pro 5, will also receive the full benefits of Intel's most capable Kaby Lake processor.

If Microsoft really intends to roll out not one but two devices which are powered by Intel's Kaby Lake processor before the end of 2017, then it might be a very successful year for the manufacturer of Surface Devices.
