Today at 1:00 p.m. ET the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-6) will try to shake off a 55-point shellacking from Tom Brady and the New England Patriots when they host another AFC East foe, the Buffalo Bills (3-6). The Steelers are a proud franchise, but their historically stout defense has been a shell of itself in 2013. The Steelers brutal run has frustrated head coach Mike Tomlin, who isn't hiding his anger a the way the season has progressed.
"We're here to win," Tomlin said. "That's our charge, that's our job, that's our passion. We're not getting it done consistently to this point. So, that's irritating and frustrating." Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger chimed in as well, saying, "I think we're all angry and disappointed."
Roethlisberger added, "That's probably collectively what's in this locker room."
The repeated losses have caused Tomlin to go through the roster and begin making changes. "You re-evaluate everything," Tomlin said. "You have to after a performance like (last weekend) and we will. It doesn't necessarily mean we will change or change for the sake of changing, but we will look at every aspect of what we are doing and who we are doing it with."
The Steelers biggest problem has been stifling the run, which could be troublesome against C.J. Spiller, whose health is returning to him, and Fred Jackson. The Bills also expect rookie starter E.J. Manuel to be under center once again.
When asked how the Bills could earn their fourth win of the season, Bills coach Doug Marrone said, "Turnovers. It always comes down to that first."
