Cody Rhodes was granted his release from the WWE over the weekend and his wife Eden has followed him out the door.
The Superstar formerly known as "Stardust" requested his release and later cited he was upset over WWE creative ignoring his desire to become Cody Rhodes again and with his standing in the company.
Rhodes, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, revealed the many reasons behind his release in a lengthy tweet.
When he announced his departure, it seemed as though Eden wouldn't be too far behind him and the WWE ring announcer tweeted she too has left the company, while teasing she has another offer on the table:
(1/2) What I've been teasing for weeks: I've been offered a new opportunity outside of WWE!! So I've decided to part w/ WWE after tonight.

The WWE then confirmed her departure on its website.
"WWE has granted Eden (wife of Cody Rhodes) her request to be released, as of today, May 24, 2016," the company wrote on WWE.com. "WWE wishes Eden the best in all her future endeavors."
Prior to the release being made official, Rhodes hinted at his wife departure on Twitter:
Lot of folks say "ride or die" these days...well @RealEdenWWE is just that in the next 24hrs, most people will realize what I'm saying — Hyrule Husky (@PrinceCGR) May 24, 2016
This is reminiscent of when CM Punk quit WWE, though Rhodes asked for his release rather than bolting the organization. After he left, his wife AJ Lee stayed with the company for over a year before retiring.
Goldust also commented about his own status after his brother and sister-in-law left the company:
A lot of people asking me if I'm leaving. NOT planning on it. #GoldenTruth #DontReadTheDirtsheets #ImInMyPrime #BenjaminButton . #HomeWWE — GOLDUST (@Goldust) May 25, 2016
Rhodes, 30, spent 10 years in the WWE, but his release isn't an angle as he's told those close to him he's contemplated it for a long time, according to PWInsider. The Superstar is a two-time Intercontinental Champion and six-time WWE World Tag Team Champion.
Eden was with the WWE since 2011.
