So far, the Sting vs. Undertaker dream match has remained just that -- a dream.
It had always been rumored that once "The Vigilante" came to WWE, he'd face "The Deadman." Both Superstars have said they want it. The fans want it. So far, the WWE hasn't obliged.
Possible Swerves To Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon
Even last year, the two were on the same card, with Sting facing Triple H at WrestleMania 31 and The Undertaker battling Bray Wyatt. Since then, the two have been kept separate.
It seemed WrestleMania 32 would be the perfect place for such an epic clash, given it takes place at AT&T Stadium and both reside in Texas. Count Bubba Ray Dudley among the people who want to see the match.
The Undertaker's 'RAW' Return A Grave Disappointment
"If it were up to me, I'd love to see Undertaker against Sting," Bubba Ray told Skysports.com. "That's an incredible spectacle. But I don't know if that can happen anymore."
Sting's injury at Night of Champions in September put his in-ring future in question, but the WWE certainly missed the boat on a possible marquee matchup.
As it stands, Sting's only role for WrestleMania 32 is his Hall of Fame induction the night before. The Undertaker is booked to battle Shane McMahon on April 3 inside Hell in a Cell with control of RAW on the line.
Once again, The Undertaker and Sting won't clash. The WWE may have missed its last chance.
