Brett Favre To St. Louis Rams? Tim Tebow Still Unemployed, Favre Considering Offer? [VIDEO]

According to reports, the St. Louis Rams placed a call to retired quarterback Brett Favre when they discovered Sam Bradford would miss the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Sources told ESPN that if Favre, now 44 years old, accepted St. Louis' overtures the shockwaves "could break Twitter." Favre recently was quoted saying that he's "in no way considering playing."

There were reports in September from Favre's agent Bus Cook discussing the fantastic shape Favre is in. "His arms look like a blacksmith's arms. He rides a bike probably 30-50 miles a day. He runs four or five miles a day. He's coaching at the high school and they're undefeated. He loves it. His body fat is 7.5 percent and he weighs 225 pounds. He could play today, better than a lot of them out there today."

Favre hasn't played since 2010, but even a passer three years removed from NFL action who is actually a grandfather seems to warrant more interest than Tim Tebow, another quarterback linked in rumors to St. Louis.

Tebow is a far different style of quarterback from Favre, relying heavily on the run and showing putrid accuracy in his brief career. Realistically, neither signal caller represents an appealing option for the Rams, who have a questionable running game and little in the way of established wide receivers.

In the immediate aftermath of Bradford's torn ACL, the Rams moved to sign Brady Quinn and Austin Davis. After Bradford went down Kellen Clemens finished the game for him.

If no one of note is brought in to complement these signings, it's expected that Clemens and Quinn will battle it out for the job. Another quarterback on the lookout for a job is Vince Young, who recently questionedy the lack of contact from quarterback-needy teams.

"Me and my wife and all my peers and fans, we're all trying to figure this stuff out. I don't have the slightest idea. It's like a huge question mark over my head every day I wake up in the morning to take care of my responsibilities and know I should be playing," Young said. "To not have one of those calls, it's tough."
