The Ravens enter play looking to avoid their worst seven game start in eight years while the Steelers will look for a second win in a row in hopes that it jumpstarts their momentum after a poor start.
The defending Super Bowl champion Ravens are on the verge of falling to under .500 through their first seven games for the first time since 2005 after losing two of their last three, including last week's 19-17 home defeat at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.
Baltimore has failed to get its running game going as it only averages 2.7 yards per carry, better than just the Jacksonville Jaguars with that mark.
"There's a lot that goes into it," coach John Harbaugh told ESPN. "There are many different things that we've looked at over the last few days to try to improve. We definitely have the men to do the job. We've got the talent up front and at running back."
Ray Rice, who is the only player in Ravens history to have four-straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons, may have that streak snapped this year as he's carried for just 197 yards on 71 attempts with three touchdowns. Rice has been dealing with a hip flexor strain that sidelined him in Week 3, but the running back insists that he's fine.
Harbaugh has admitted there's been trouble with the team's ground game.
"You can't consistently run for two yards a carry and be what you want to be as an offense," Harbaugh said per ESPN.
The Steelers won their first game last Sunday in a 19-6 victory over the New York Jets after getting off to their worst start since 1968 at an 0-6 mark, and the team didn't have any turnovers against the Jets after committing 11 in the first six weeks. Pittsburgh sits 2 1/2 games behind the first place Cincinnati Bengals, and looks to keep turning the season around.
Pittsburgh knows it will be no easy task defeating the defending Super Bowl champions.
"Obviously, they're a talented, capable team led by superstars in all three phases and they're defending world champs," Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said, according to ESPN. "They don't need an endorsement from me."
Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco has had his share of struggles this season due to a lack of weapons. Flacco has gone 136-for-235 (57.9%) for 1,702 yards with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions.
The Steelers counter with Ben Roethlisberger, who ended a streak of four-straight games with an interception by not throwing one Sunday en route to completing 23-of-30 for 264 yards with a touchdown. On the season, Big Ben is 126-for-192 (65.6%) for 1,495 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions.
