Today at 1:00 p.m. the scrappy Buffalo Bills (2-4) will take their talents to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins (3-2) who ripped off three straight wins to start the season, but lost two straight going into last week's bye. Live stream the game here; Dolphins fans can listen to the game on WQAM 560, while Bills fans can do the same on WGR 550 AM.
Part of the reason for Miami's quick start to the season was improved play from second-year signal caller Ryan Tannehill, who has seen his play regress in the two losses that followed the winning streak. Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin attributed much of Tannehill's production dip to decreased offensive line play.
"It's hard to function offensively when you're going backward," Philbin said. "We're going to fix the problems we have. We're not going to sweep them under the rug."
The Bills don't figure to be an easy matchup; they rank third in the NFL with 21 sacks already in the books. Buffalo has not been the same team on the road, however, that they have been inside Ralph Wilson Stadium.
"You could always say, 'Yes, it's tougher to win on the road,' there's no doubt about that," said head coach Doug Marrone. "But it's tough to win in general."
Miami has the advantage of playing at home this week, but to really neutralize Buffalo's formidable pass rush, they'll need to get the ground game going. That means establishing Lamar Miller, who ran for just 15 yards the last time the Dolphins took the field.
"We want to be able to run the ball," Tannehill said. "We don't want to be one-dimensional. It's something that we'll keep working at, and hopefully be better (this week)."
