Johnny Manziel Rumors: Embattled Browns QB May Be In Hiding After Turbulent Season [VIDEO]

Now Johnny Manziel goes into hiding.

The mercurial quarterback who may have thrown away his career with the Browns, has not made any appearances since a TMZ Sports report that Manziel had bought a case of wine on Jan. 4 at a store in Cleveland, according to USA Today Sports.

Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Undeterred By Johnny Manziel's Personal Issues

A USA Today Sports reporter visited Manziel's Cleveland address, but was told the quarterback was not home by a man identified as Bryan Chase, a former Manziel high school teammate, who is his roommate.

The box that housed the case of wine Manziel had bought was still was visible, according to the report.

Johnny Manziel Vegas Trip Signals He Wants Out Of Cleveland

Manziel's high school coach in Texas, Mark Smith of Kerrville's Tivy High, sounded worried about the former Heisman Trophy winner.

"Am I concerned for him? Yes," Smith told USA Today Sports. "He's a great kid and I really think he can do some great things. He's got to figure that out on his own."

Former NBA player and coach, and professional athlete counselor, John Lucas volunteered his help to Manziel in a tweet, posted by Larry Brown Sports.

Manziel did have a mentor in former Tivy offensive coordinator Julius Scott, who lived with Johnny Football for three months after Manziel's 10-week rehab stay for undisclosed reasons.

But when Scott left, Manziel started drinking again, as evidenced by his run-in with police after an argument with girlfriend Colleen Crowley, in which Manziel admitted he had been drinking earlier in the day.

Despite his troubles, Manziel still seems to have interest from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

And a report from showtimesports.com indicated that multiple sources have indicated that the Texans could have an interest in him, especially after the way quarterback Bryan Hoyer played in the AFC Wild Card Game against the Chiefs.

But that's assuming Manziel wants to be found -- and Manziel the football player, not Manziel the partier.
