The top two clubs in Portugal’s Primeira will do battle when FC Porto meets Sporting Lisbon on Saturday.
Both clubs enter the weekend on short rest. Porto -- who sit atop the league table by one point -- were beaten by Maritimo in the third round of the Taca da Liga (the Portuguese Cup). Sporting -- led by manager Jorge Jesus -- fared better, defeating Pacos de Ferreira at home.
This will be the 160th meeting between the two clubs in the Portuguese League. Poroto leads the all-time series 62-42-55 (W-D-L). Including the Portuguese Cup, Portuguese League Cup and Portuguese Supercup, that advantage dwindles to 79-62-76.
Lisbon will look to bring that marker down an extra peg with a victory on Saturday.
