Philadelphia 76ers Rumors: Latest Jahlil Okafor Mishap Is The Dumbest Yet [VIDEO]

It’s been a rough month for 76ers rookie Jahlil Okafor, who has had four off-court incidents become public in rapid succession. The latest misdeed in the series is easily the most foolish one yet. Okafor, 19, allegedly tried to use a fake I.D. at Misconduct Tavern in Center City, per CSN Philly.

This incident happened in October, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, who said he was surprised Okafor tried the fake I.D. since he is “pretty easy to recognize.” It’s not hard to spot the 7-footer, who starred for Duke’s National Championship team last season and went No. 3 overall in the 2015 Draft. Decision-making hasn’t been Okafor’s strong suit lately, as he’s managed to repeatedly embarrass a team that’s on-court play – they are 0-18 – has been pitiful enough.

Okafor Hecklers In Boston Had A Point

Okafor reportedly had a gun pulled on him in October by a heckling fan with whom he got into an argument, according to five anonymous sources that spoke with The Philadelphia Enquirer. Three weeks ago, Okafor risked his life by speeding over the Ben Franklin bridge. The police clocked him at 108 miles per hour, when travelling more than 40 miles per hour on the bridge constitutes reckless driving.

Most recently, Okafor was captured on video slugging it out in the street with a heckler after a night out at a Boston nightclub. The man he knocked out was reportedly heckling him and saying the 76ers “sucked.” Okafor childishly responded by flaunting how much money he has, before fighting the man.

After the news of his fight broke, Okafor took responsibility for his actions. "It was definitely dumb on my part," Okafor said. "It's something that I am embarrassed about. [I'm] still dealing with the league and the team. But I'm not happy about it at all. I know that there are people like that that try to anger you. I'll never handle it like [I did Thursday morning] again."

The Sixers haven’t had much luck lately with their high picks that they keep tanking for. Fellow center Joel Embiid, their top pick of 2014, has yet to play one second for the Sixers, and is expected to miss all of the 2015-16 season. The only positive is that Okafor’s play on the court hasn’t suffered from his questionable actions once he has down time.

This season Okafor is averaging 17.5 points and 8.2 rebounds.
