Today at 1:00 p.m. the Green Bay Packers (1-1) head to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals (1-1) in an inter-conference clash of teams expected to contend for playoff spots. The game can be live streamed here; Packers fans can listen to the action on 620 WTMJ while Bengals fans may do the same on ESPN 1530.
The Bengals are an up-and-coming team with a defense many expect to be among the league's best. However, they are facing one of the most devastating offensive weapons in the NFL, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who just got done shredding the Washington Redskins to the tune of 480 yards and four scores.
"We have the opportunity, with the guys that we have in this locker room, to do that week in and week out," wide receiver Randall Cobb said. "As long as we continue to prepare ourselves right and communicate throughout the week and be prepared and execute the plays, I think the stats should continue to look the way they do."
They will likely need to lean heavily on Rodgers again this week, with rookie running back Eddie Lacy likely out due to a concussion. Lacy hasn't been ruled out, but even if he's active he will probably be limited. In his place, James Starks will tote the rock for Green Bay. Against the 'Skins in Week 2 Starks became the first Packer to rush for over 100 yards since 2010.
With all that facing them, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton feels as if he must take charge of the offense in Week 3 and keep up with Green Bay's aerial assault.
"They're an offense that can score a lot and can score really quick," Dalton said. "(Our) offense has to come to play this week. We've gotta do whatever we can to keep scoring, keep drives going."
