Today at 2:45 p.m. ET, Olympiacos and Paris St. Germain go toe-to-toe in Group B Champions League soccer from Karaiskakis Stadium. The game can be live streamed here.
Olympiacos' attempt at getting further than last year in the Championship League will be a tough one as it faces League 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. Olympiacos, the Greek champions, were eliminated in the group stage of the 2012-13 competition despite being just one point shy of second-placed Arsenal and claiming victories in three out of their six games.
Olympiacos will look to get a lift from striker Javier Saviola, who just joined the team in July and knows that it's a huge challenge his team is preparing to face.
"It will be a very difficult game, Saviola said per ESPN. "Paris is a team that always wants to win, they are very strong offensively, playing attacking football with high-level players. But I believe that we have the right weapons to tackle a difficult and important game."
Saviola went on to say he believes the team is well prepared for the match heading into his first ever Champions League game at the Karaiskakis.
"I think we are well prepared and what remains is to be psychologically ready to deal with a team of the quality of PSG," he said, according to ESPN. "I do not know exactly what to expect," he said. "I know it will be a very special night."
PSG, meanwhile, is riding a three-game winning streak into the match and is placed in third in its domestic league.
PSG is coming off a season where it narrowly missed advancing to the semifinals in the Champions League before it fell to Barcelona in a tie-breaker after both games between the two teams went to draws.
Lucas Moura scored the team's second tally against Bordeaux in the team's 2-0 victory last Friday, and though the team is heavily favored, he refuses to go into the match with too much confidence.
"There are no easy teams in the Champions League, even if we face teams assumed to be weaker than us," Moura said per ESPN. "We cannot assume that it will be easy because everyone wants to win the Champions League."
Moura added: "We will play every game like a final and climb the steps one by one...we will fight to be champions of Europe."
For PSG, it all begins with a fight against a hungry Olympiacos team this afternoon.
