Braxton Miller Injury Status: Ohio State QB Questionable For Saturday Vs.California [VIDEO]

Ohio State rolled over San Diego State University 42-7 last week in a lopsided game that many expected would be simple. It was a costly win, however, as quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Braxton Miller strained a knee ligament and could miss Saturday's tilt with the California Golden Bears.

"We'll know more tomorrow," Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said. "He's going on the trip and tomorrow's going to be the day we'll find out how much he'll play."

Earlier in the week Meyer said he was "fairly optimistic" Miller would be able to take the field and said that hasn't changed.

"It's not as sore, it's an MCL so it's a little unstable," Meyer said. "He's got to get used to that brace. We'll have a better [idea] tomorrow, but it's going to go to game time. He's an experienced player, and I'm not worried about how much he practices. Obviously tomorrow is big."

Buckeyes safety Christian Bryant indicated he think Miller will be ready to go after facing him in non-contact practice. "Braxton looks good," Bryant said. "I saw him throw the ball a few times. But I think he's just focusing on getting back so he can be ready."

Miller's been hurt before, and Buckeyes fans are starting to question his durability and desire to play through pain. Meyer has made comments to the contrary, and is attempting to put those concerns to bed. "No. (It's) obvious that quarterbacks at times get hit, especially Braxton, who is a fearless player."

Buckeyes tight end Jeff Heuerman was in line with his head coach when talking with the media.

You're going to get bumps and bruises. You're going to have things not always go your way. There's no reason to be concerned," Heuerman said. "Braxton plays a huge role in this offense, especially with his legs. So he's moving around a lot, he's throwing the ball, he's got a bunch of reads. Sometimes things don't go as planned; he took a shot and his knee twisted up a little bit. But he'll be fine. I don't think there's any major concern about the way he plays. He's a dynamic, incredible athlete."
