There's a reason, as ridiculous as it sounds, that Drake and Serena Williams no longer are together.
Serena is not Canadian.
Drake Spotted At Nightclub With Serena Look-Alike
The rapper revealed that he is interested in having romantic relationships only with women who live in his hometown of Toronto in an interview with W Magazine.
Responding to a reporter's comment that most people leave Toronto, Drake replied, "Really? Most people I know stay in Toronto. I plan to spend the rest of my life there. The talk, the smell, the sound that comes out of that city is home to me. When I think about the girls I want to get romantic with, it's a girl from Toronto who knows what I'm talking about when we drive around the city."
Serena Williams Reacts To Drake Calling Another Woman "Bae"
Williams, unfortunately, was born in Saginaw, Mich., and resides in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
It's just too bad that Drake didn't ask the world's No. 1 female tennis player when they reportedly hooked up at a Cincinnati hotel restaurant in August where she was from.
Of course, reports have surfaced within the last week that the two have not been romantically involved, even though Drake traveled to watch Williams play at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, among other events, even though it was Drake who whisked her away after her stunning semifinals loss to Roberta Vinci at the U.S. Open. It was Williams who posted a hand-stopping emoji when Drake called Vogue editor Anna Wintour his "bae" at a Williams fashion show.
Those same reports now include sources refuting that Drake and Williams were "making out" at the hotel restaurant in Cincinnati, hinting that photos of the couple TMZ posted didn't show them making out.
But a second video of the Drake with his arm around Williams and -- if not leaning in for a kiss, then really studying her face up close -- that a stalking fan record and posted on the internet seems to confirm more than friendship.
For whatever reason, Drake seems to want to distance himself from Serena. In typical Williams fashion, the only comment she has made about Drake is that they have been friends for years, just like family, in July, as USA Today Sports' For the Win reported.
