Somerville High Massachusetts Soccer Players Rape Freshman Teammate With Broomstick At Camp [VIDEO]; Galileo Mondol, 17, Held On $100,000 Bail

A shocking bullying attack has been reported in Massachusetts as three Somerville High School soccer players are accused of raping a freshman boy with a broomstick at a team-building retreat in Camp Lenox.

According to Boston.com, 17-year-old Galileo Mondol and two 16-year-old accomplices barged into a room of freshman, with one of the accomplices grabbing a broomstick. The group of boys began threatening freshmen by saying, "We're going to pick someone. It's going to be you. It's going to be you."

Then, one of the other teammates grabbed a freshman, forced him to his hands and knees and began to sodomize him with the broomstick. Mondol allegedly pleaded with the two 16-year-olds to stop, before changing his mind mid-attack. According to District Attorney Rachel Eramo, Mondol said "I want to have a crack at that. If you do it again, I will lift up the broomstick."

Witnesses to the sexual assault described the victim crying on the floor and bleeding; Eramo said State Police later retrieved a tissue with a brown stain on it that is believed to be the freshman's blood. Reports indicate the vicious teens weren't done either, assaulting two more freshmen with the stick. The next two were able to fight the older boys off, however, and were only poked with the stick instead of being raped.

Eramo also accused Mondol of making eye contact with the rape victim and telling him, "you better keep your mouth shut."

Mondol is currently in jail on $100,000 bond, and his attorneys are pleading his innocence, saying Mondol was doing his best to prevent the attack. Mondol's lawyer, William Korman, said his client was in "the wrong place at the wrong time," and insists he was trying to stop the violence. "The victim himself says the defendant had nothing to do with it," Korman told the judge. "This boy was telling the others to stop, to not do it.''

Korman also accused the prosecution of having a weak case, leading to a stiffer bond than was asked for. "My client is being confined because the district attorney's office has determined that they want their pound of flesh now, just in case they can't prove their case later," Korman said. "And they will not be able to prove their case later."
