Tim Tebow: Patriots' Tom Brady And Owner Robert Kraft Discuss Him Being Cut [VIDEO]

Tim Tebow is an enigma. Even days after the third string quarterback was cut by the New England Patriots, he is still making headlines. In the latest round of Tebow news, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and quarterback Tom Brady gave their feelings on Tebow, with Kraft saying he wished the 26 year old would have made the roster while Brady said he enjoyed working with him for two-1/2 months.

"I love Tim Tebow and I very much wanted him on the team," Kraft said in an appearance on CBS' This Morning on Tuesday. "If you look, four of the last five years we've only carried two quarterbacks, and you know when a cut-down time comes, you need those last three, four positions for depth."

Tebow was victimized by cuts as the Patriots will of course keep Brady and back-up signal caller Ryan Mallett. Tebow was waived on Saturday as the Patriots will once again carry just two quarterbacks on their roster. While Brady won't be working with Tebow anymore, he had some positive things to say about him when he reflected on their time together.

"I enjoyed being around him very much," Brady said of Tebow on the Dennis & Callahan Show on WEEI Sports Radio in Boston Tuesday. "He's a very talented football player, and to have a chance to spend a couple months with him and kind of become a friend of his was a great thing."

Tebow and Brady were only teammates for a little over two months, but Brady said Tebow brought a lot to the team.

"Yesterday we were talking about a lot of the quarterbacks that have been through our team over the years, and everyone brings a unique skill set and attitude to the table, and I really enjoyed being with him," Brady told the radio program.

Whether or not Tebow gets another chance to play in the NFL remains to be seen, but he wasn't claimed by any teams after he was waived. Sources around the league are speculating if Tebow would ever participate in the Canadian Football League, though the Montreal Alouttes own the rights to him and don't seem to be too interested in bringing him aboard and reportedly the team owner has never spoken with him.

Kraft's excitement for Tebow when he originally joined the Patriots over two months ago was very apparent, as can be seen in the video below:

Tebow appeared in three preseason games for the Patriots, and went 11-for-30 with the team and threw two touchdowns and one interception in his final audition for the team in the team's exhibition finale against the New York Giants.

Tebow played in a limited role for the New York Jets last season, only throwing the ball eight times and connecting on six attempts for 39 yards without a touchdown. In his third year in 2012, Tebow also rushed for 102 yards on 32 carries without reaching the end zone.

The Jets didn't utilize Tebow that often, one season removed from when he led the Denver Broncos to an AFC West division title with an 8-8 record in 2011 and threw an 80-yard pass on the opening play of an overtime drive to lead the Broncos to a stunning defeat of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wildcard round of the playoffs that same season.

Brady and Kraft both fondly reflected on Tebow, and neither one shut the door on a possible return. Kraft is hoping Tebow gets an opportunity elsewhere.

"Whatever he does, I know he's going to be a great success off the field and I'm rooting for him to get his opportunity on the field as well," Kraft said.
