What Peyton Manning did off the gridiron this weekend was perhaps more important than anything the future Hall of Famer will ever do on it.
The Broncos signal caller received a letter from Kari Barnett Bollig, a huge fan of his who is dealing with stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her bones and lungs, and Manning decided to treat her to a wonderful experience over the weekend, according to the Indianapolis Star.

The Super Bowl XLI MVP arranged for Bollig to meet him, attend Saturday's walk-through practice and snap photos with other players on the Broncos. Bollig was a fan of Manning when he played on the Colts from 1998-2011, which includes when he won the Super Bowl with them in the 2006-07 season.
When Manning was dealt to the Broncos in 2012, Bollig's adoration of the quarterback never wavered, and she got the chance to meet him last weekend.

"He walked right over after he got his picture taken," Kari told the Indianapolis Star. "It was so sweet because he shakes my hand and says, 'I'm Peyton Manning.' It was cute. It was kind of like, 'I know who you are Peyton.'"
Manning flew Bollig and her husband out to Denver from Indianapolis to come for the special weekend, which included tickets to the Broncos Week 1 game.
"I have followed Peyton Manning forever, especially being an Indiana girl," Bollig said. "I just thought, 'Well shoot. I'm going to write him a letter and tell him how much he inspires me, not just because he's a football player, but for what he does off the field.'"
Bollig watched on as Manning and the Broncos defeated the Ravens 19-13 to open up the season.
