Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos, and his brother Eli, who tosses the pigskin for the New York Giants, are well-known for their ability to lead high-powered offenses and score touchdowns. But who knew they could rap?
The pair of brothers donned wigs, tight jeans, and in Peyton's case an interesting vest for DIRECTV, and kicked some rhymes about watching football on their phones.
The commercial is promoting DirecTV's new feature which allows subscribers to watch games on their televisions, computers, tablets, or even cell phones. The cell phone is the focal point of the Mannings' video, and it is called Football On Your Phone.
Archie Manning, the passing brothers' dad makes a cameo sitting on a gold throne, but it is really Eli who steals the show. He drops some golden one-liners like "It's football on your phone, so now's your chance. To have football on your phone, and to have football in your pants."
In a second, slightly more suggestive lyric Eli raps, "It's like I spilled milk all over your blouse on accident, or on purpose. It's like the milk is football and your blouse is the phone. Uh huh. Yea." Lil Wayne would be very proud.
This year both Peyton and Eli will be expected to carry talented teams into the postseason. When the two quarterbacks meet again, they likely will have ditched the wigs and probably won't be joking with one another.
That's because they are meeting face-to-face on the gridiron in Week 2 at MetLife Stadium. While Manning is an established legend in the game, as Eli has amassed more and more playoff success the question of who is the best Manning has become a louder discussion.
While Peyton has a Super Bowl MVP under his belt, Eli has won two championships, and was named Super Bowl MVP both times.
