DeAndre Jordan Clippers Rumors: DJ Wants To Play For The Mavericks? [VIDEO]

DeAndre Jordan may have goaltended himself out of Los Angeles prematurely on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers center tipped in teammate Blake Griffin's shot attempt late in Game 5 of the first round the NBA playoffs against the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, but referees correctly called Jordan for goaltending.

The Spurs beat the Clippers 111-107 to take a 3-2 series lead with Game 6 headed back to San Antonio. If the Spurs close out the series, Jordan may have played his last game in a Clippers uniform.

ESPN.com is reporting that Jordan has let the Dallas Mavericks know that he would be willing to join the team next season.

Kevin Love's shoulder injury helps Lakers' quest of landing free agent in the summer?

"Another potential prize summer target for the Mavs: Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, who multiple sources say has made it clear through back channels that he will be extremely interested in coming to Dallas. Signing the 26-year-old Jordan, a dominant physical force who led the league in rebounding and field-goal percentage this season, would mean letting the 32-year-old Tyson Chandler leave again after another one-season stint with the Mavs.

" 'That's up to management and what they decide to do,' Chandler said of his possible future in Dallas as he enters free agency, adding that his preference would be to return to the Mavs."

Jordan is a Houston native, having gone to school at Texas A&M. The post, who turns 27 in July, averaged 11.5 points and 15.0 rebounds per game in 2014-15. He shot 71.0 percent from the floor, nearly double his average from the free-throw line, 39.7 percent.

The Spurs have employed a "Hack-a-Jordan" strategy in the playoffs. He has made just 18 of 49 free-throw attempts (36.7 percent) in the postseason this year.

The Mavericks exited the playoffs with a first-round loss to the Houston Rockets in five games and need to rebuild their roster around aging star Dirk Nowitzki. The health status of Chandler Parsons, who may need microfracture surgery on his right knee, is a big question mark going into next season.
