Aguayo got injured during the match and went limp as Mysterio prepared for the 619 and later passed away after being rushed to a local hospital. Tigre Uno and Manik were also involved in the match.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there are reports that Mysterio has received death threats in Mexico following the tragedy, which occurred at a CRASH wrestling event.

Aguayo was taken to the hospital, which was just a block away, after the spot with Mysterio, and was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. local time.
According to Mediotempo.com, the cause of death was a stroke caused by cervical spinal damage and the medical report stated that Aguayo suffered from whiplash.
The doctor for the wrestling event was backstage treating two other injured wrestlers, which was why he wasn't at ringside after the incident initially occurred.
Aguayo was carried to the back on a piece of plywood to get him backstage as quickly as possible and then transferred to a stretcher and into an ambulance that rushed him straight to the hospital.
Doctors tried to resuscitate him for over an hour, but Aguayo eventually succumbed to his injury. He was also given an MRI to rule out any other cause of death.
Aguayo is the son of legendary wrestler Perro Aguayo Sr., who wasn't instantly notified of his son's passing due to the fact that he is very ill and it was uncertain how he would handle the news.
Mysterio spoke to the live audience after the incident and The Associated Press revealed there could be a manslaughter charge following the tragedy, but it remains to be seen.
"Just formed a friendship between brothers who opened years ago and we should not question the designs of God," Mysterio told the crowd in a translation of his comments, according to Wrestlingheadlines.com. "But in this occasion I wonder because [I don't] understand rest in peace HijoDelPerro. With all the respect in the world my most heartfelt condolences for the Aguayo family, you ask God who fills them with fortitude and resignation. To overcome this great loss. May the God bless, you [and fill you with] strength."
