Marshawn Lynch Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Retirement Possible, NFC Champs' Offseason On Hold? [VIDEO]

The fate of the 2015 Seattle Seahawks is in Marshawn Lynch's hands. And they don't know whether that's good or bad.

Feeling heat leads to Colin Kaepernick unloading on Twitter critic?

USA TODAY Sports is reporting that Seahawks general manager John Schneider is absolutely in the dark over whether his start running back returns to the team in 2015. In fact, Scheider says, a Lynch retirement is not out of the question.

"He's a guy who kind of beats to his own drum," Schneider said. "He does what he wants. He never lets you know one way or the other.

"There's been a lot of good running backs who have just walked away. So I have no idea."

Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has green light on seeking a trade?

Asked whether he'd be surprised if Lynch were to announce his retirement, Schneider said, "Not really."

The fluidity of the situation puts the NFC champion Seahawks in a predicament about how to plan their immediate future, based on Lynch's decision.

Schneider told USA TODAY Sports that the team is hoping that Lynch will decide "soon" but is giving Lynch all the time he wants to make his decision.

The free-agency period begins March 10. The draft is April 30, and the Seahawks are holding up their strategy until Lynch decides.

They still have to renegotiate with quarterback Russell Wilson and have to take a serious look at backups Robert Turbin and Christine Michael to determine whether they need to look at taking a running back in the early rounds of the draft.

Asked how the Seahawks offense would change if Lynch were to retire, Schneider mimicked being hit with a punch, NFL.com reported.

"Bam. Wow," Schneider said. "We'll have to adjust, but we have to do that at every position, so we constantly have models and plans for what's coming. We'd just have to move forward with Plan B."

The other Plan Bs, however, are in a holding pattern until Lynch makes his decision.
