Luis Suarez Transferring From Liverpool? Striker Claims English Media Bullies Him

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, one of soccer's most talented players, is seeking an exit from Liverpool due to his "family and my image". The controversial 26-year-old star has been mired in several ugly incidents that go beyond the pitch, and he believes the English media is helping to sully his name.

At a press conference in Uruguay, Suarez said, "My reason for leaving is not the money. If it were the money I would have left already. My main reason is my family and my image." Suarez is currently serving a ten-game suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic of Chelsea. Previously, he was banned for eight games thanks to racist taunts he was showering Patrice Evra of Manchester United with.

Suarez went on a tirade against the English press.

"Firstly, being persecuted from the paparazzi all the time. I couldn't go to my garden or the supermarket. I couldn't do anything. I know is normal being followed by the press, but it was too much. All silly things they said about me, all the pictures, all the taunts, etc. That happened every day and nobody (in the press) supported me. They talk about me being the named as the best player in England, but I knew that wasn't going to happen."

Suarez also told a Uruguayan radio station that should Real Madrid extend an offer to him, he would find it "hard to resist." He admitted, though, that as of now he had received no offers and did not say for certain that he would be ditching Liverpool.

""The club knows what I think and what I want. I don't know what will happen but I have a contract. If I stay, I will do my best here. But I don't think that will happen because of all the bullying from the press against me."
