Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that there is a belief going around that a segment with Corey Graves at the event last week at Full Sail University was done as a pot shot at the "Best in the World."

Graves revealed during the pre-show that the WWE's "world-class doctors" advised him to retire due to concussion issues. Graves also revealed that he will be staying with the company in an announcer's role.

Punk left the WWE in January due to his frustration over how the WWE handled his injuries over the years -- amid suffering a concussion at January's Royal Rumble -- and due to being burned out.

Punk went on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast last month and ripped on the WWE for the way the company handled his injuries and tried to get him to work hurt multiple times during his run there

Punk was most angry about the WWE doctors trying to downplay his concussion and he ragged on the WWE's medical staff and protocol regarding head injuries.

When Graves made the announcement about his in-ring career ending, it was partially meant to be a shot at Punk as Graves put the doctors over as world-class, said they identified the problems and did the right thing and then added that he still has a job with the company.

After ripping the WWE on the podcast, Punk said there was no way he'd ever have a working relationship with the company again and he added that he was done with wrestling in general.

Shortly thereafter, the "Best in the World" signed with UFC in a shocking development and he has since said he is training for his first fight and expects it to be in six or seven months.

While Punk got a lot of digs in on the WWE on the podcast, it appears as though the company got in one parting shot to the former WWE Champion.
