Colorado QB Arrested: Jordan Webb, Alex Lewis Of Colorado Buffaloes Arrested, Charged With Second Degree Assault

Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Jordan Webb, and former Colorado lineman Alex Lewis have been arrested and charged with second degree assault, according to reports.

David Plati, a spokesman for the Colorado athletic department, confirmed that the two players were arrested Saturday morning but claimed he had not seen the arrest affidavit and declined to comment any further on the charges.

Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre released a statement that said: Once all of the facts come to light, if Jordan is found responsible for any misconduct, he will be disciplined according to team rules,'' first-year Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre said in a statement. "As for Alex Lewis, as of Friday he was off of the team when he did a media interview and announced that he is transferring to Nebraska. Since he is no longer a Colorado Buffalo, it will be up to Nebraska to decide what discipline he might face."

Lewis served as the starting right guard for the Buffaloes last season, but announced Friday that he was transferring to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Webb spent his first two seasons at Kansas before switching schools and becoming a member of the Buffaloes. Last season the junior passer completed 54.3 percent of his passes (144-for-265) while throwing eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. He racked up 1,434 yards through the air but only averaged 5.4 yards per completion. He is currently recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered during spring practice.

The two men are expected to appear in court Monday afternoon; details of what led to their arrests are currently unavailable. The Boulder County Sherriff's office has not returned any calls for comment.
