Today at 2:10 p.m. ET, the Cincinnati Reds (51-49) and Milwaukee Brewers (56-45) close out their three-game set live from Miller Park in Milwaukee. The game can be live streamed here. Cincinnati fans can hear all of the action on WLW 700 while Milwaukee fans can do the same on WTMJ 620.
Cincinnati closes out a forgetful six-game road trip following the All-Star break that has seen them lose five straight while Milwaukee looks for the sweep as it continues a seven-game homestand. The Brewers enter play in first place in the National League Central while the Reds are in fourth place, 4.5 games behind their opponents.
The Brewers won the series-opener 5-2 on Monday and followed it up with a 4-3 victory Tuesday.
Mike Leake (7-8, 3.63 ERA) takes the ball for Cincinnati while Milwaukee counters with Kyle Lohse, who is 10-4 with a 3.16 ERA.
The Reds are looking for answers as the team is mired in a season-long five-game losing streak.
"Guys are playing hard, just not playing terribly well right now," Reds manager Bryan Price told MLB.com. "There's not a whole lot of things we've done terribly well since we came back from the All-Star break, unfortunately."
Lohse is coming off of an outing where he held the Washington Nationals to seven innings of one-run ball, but he did allow 10 hits in the triumph.
"That's what pitching is about, though," Lohse said per MLB.com. "When you don't have your best stuff, you still have to make pitches."
Lohse will hope that the Cincinnati lineup continues to stay quiet in the second half. Up to this point, the Reds have been flanked by third baseman Todd Frazier, who is fourth in the NL with 20 homers and leads the Reds with a .283 batting average and 54 RBI.
Cincinnati rookie Billy Hamilton ranks second in the NL with 39 stolen bases and tied for third with six triples.
Milwaukee catcher Jonathan Lucroy has seen his average dip since the break, but he hit two homers - including a walk-off - Tuesday night and has a lot of success against Leake. Lucroy, who is second in the NL with 33 doubles and leads the Brewers with a .310 batting average, is 7-for-20 with a double, a home run and two RBI in his career off of Leake.
Brewers outfielder Khris Davis leads the team with 16 homers and has 51 RBI with a .252 batting average.
The Reds look for their first win since the All-Star break on the final game of their road trip while the Brewers look to complete the sweep when these teams take the field this afternoon at Miller Park.
