CM Punk appeared on AMC's Talking Dead show on Sunday night, which followed the hit zombie television drama The Walking Dead, in what was his first television appearance since walking out on the WWE prior to the Jan. 27 edition of Monday Night RAW. Reports indicate that there was a lot of talk backstage about Punk appearing on the show at Monday night's RAW telecast.
WWE giving CM Punk 'middle finger' with Daniel Bryan push?
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there was a lot of talk backstage about Punk being on the television show and how healthy he looked while appearing on it. A lot of the talents backstage were impressed with how healthy Punk appeared to be on the program after being so burned out by traveling with the WWE.
It seems as though a couple of months away from the company have done Punk well health-wise, at least that's the perception of his former WWE peers.
CM Punk wrong to appear on Talking Dead while breaching his WWE contract
Punk stormed out of the company due to frustration over how he was used and his planned role for WrestleMania XXX on April 6 in New Orleans. There was speculation that Punk would leave once his contract expired in July, and with Punk not scheduled to main event this year's show, his frustration got the better of him and led to his departure.
WrestleMania XXX: Update on latest rumors and changes to the card
Punk was expected to face Triple H at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for WrestleMania XXX, however due to the fact that Punk departed, Daniel Bryan took his spot in the match. The stipulation was later added that the winner of the Bryan vs. Triple H match will be added to the main event and face Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
It was reported that the WWE adding the stipulation is seen as a "middle finger" to Punk as the company hopes he realizes that it could have been him having the stipulation and living his dream by headlining WrestleMania.
The WWE was reportedly angry over the fact that Punk flew out to Los Angeles to appear on Talking Dead but wouldn't bother to show up to the March 3 RAW episode in his hometown of Chicago to talk to WWE officials about what's bothering him and try to work out a compromise to return.
The WWE was always hopeful they'd get Punk back in time for WrestleMania, but it seems as though he will not be returning and his contract will expire in July without the "Best in the World" working any of the dates he had been scheduled to.
