'Fans Will Come Swinging!' — Travis Kelce Fears Backlash Over Taylor Swift Relationship If Chiefs Lose

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is reportedly worried that the crowd may jeer him and his girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, 34, into next season if the team doesn't continue to win.

The couple has been around all eyes lately, as Swift has attended multiple games of the tight end, including last season's Super Bowl for Kelce. Not everyone is a fan of Swift's showing up to all of her events though, with some fans getting very vocal about it.

To some fans, the hot and steamy romance has left some NFL viewers in a frenzy. The self-proclaimed "dads, Brads, and Chads" have been outrageous about the very frequent visits made by Swift and the attention given her by the league, according to Daily Mail.

Kelce dreads that criticism would be harsher in case the Chiefs lost one game this season since they have won all games so far.

However, former NFL player and media personality Pat McAfee says the relationship is good for football.

"You and Taylor's relationship is great for the sport," McAfee said, pointing out how it opens the eyes of the NFL to new markets, then complimenting Kelce for being such a good influence.

Kelce Off to Slow Start Under Relationship Scrutiny

Kelce's love affair with Swift has already been made public view, and not least because of his woeful start to the season.

'If we lose, it's going to absolutely f***ing rain down, baby. Just got to keep winning and staying on top,' Travis told his co-host, brother Jason, and guest Pat McAfee on a Wednesday podcast.

He caught just eight catches in the first three games, much to the torrents of criticism over off-field matters, like his rush-surfaced summer with Swift. The lovebirds were snapped and snapped again, hanging out in New York City for lovey-dovey strolls, and the US Open and Yankee's all-important playoff matches did not go unnoticed either.

Criticism and Comeback

According to People, rumors accused that perhaps Swift's presence was a factor that played for Kelce's on-field early struggles. About the said criticism, reportedly, Swift avoided further with a skip to the game of Chiefs with the Chargers in Los Angeles.

On the other hand, Kelce rebounded very fast that he got 16 catches for 159 yards within his last two games and helped the Chiefs go 5-0, leading the bye.

Similar criticism was leveled last season in the Chiefs' holiday swoon, when others, such as sports analyst Skip Bayless, labeled Swift a "distraction" after the Raiders bested Kansas City on Christmas. But the Chiefs had the final say in that matter, winning the Super Bowl in the process.

Kelce and the Chiefs intend to maintain winning as they continue with their form with the help of coach Andy Reid and his assistants because of all the hullabaloo that has surrounded the off-field gimmicks.
