Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen re-injured his right ankle during their 105-93 Game 2 loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, April 23, at the Target Center in Minnesota.

The loss has now placed the Suns at an 0-2 deficit heading into their homecourt at the Footprint Center, and they are uncertain about Allen's availability for Game 3.

Allen rolled his right ankle early in the third quarter while defending a layup attempt by Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. and stepping on his foot. The sharpshooter was not able to return to the game.

He previously rolled the same ankle in the third quarter during their 120-95 Game 1 loss last Saturday, April 20, and entered Game 2 listed as questionable.

"Rolled it pretty good, but we got the same thing as last game. 48 hours in between, two days, so we'll see how it goes after two days of treatment," the 28-year-old said during the post-game interview for Game 2.

The Suns' depth take a hit with Grayson Allen injury

The Suns' depth was already lacking, as they are mostly top-heavy, with most of their assets allocated to stars Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.

Allen was a consistent contributor throughout the season, starting in 74 of the 75 games he played in the regular season.

The former Duke star also led the entire league in three-point percentage in the 2023-24 season, shooting 46.1 percent from beyond the arc.
