Coby White Contract: Bulls Point Guard Is In The Middle Of A Remarkable Run — How Much Does He Make?

Chicago Bulls guard Coby White has recently shown impressive form, hinting at a potential breakout after several underwhelming seasons.

This recent run of games is reminiscent of the talent that led the Bulls to draft him with the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Let's take a look at the contract and salary details of White, which might soon be a massive bargain if he continues to display exceptional performances.

Coby White's Contract: $33 million

White inked a three-year contract extension with the Bulls this past offseason worth $33 million, which could reach up to $40 million through incentives.

The former North Carolina player had a remaining qualifying offer of $7.7 million on his rookie contract. If Chicago had chosen to accept it, he would have become a restricted free agent, allowing the Bulls the right to match any offers he received.

White's contract stands significantly lower to that of many of his peers from the 2019 NBA Draft, especially given his high draft selection.

For instance, the first two picks from that class, Zion Williamson and Ja Morant, each landed contracts close to $200 million last season.

Further down the draft board below White, Tyler Herro, selected 13th overall, secured a four-year agreement valued at $120 million. Meanwhile, Jordan Poole, taken 28th overall, finalized a four-year extension worth $123 million.

The reason for this could be attributed to White's lack of impact during his first four campaigns in the league.
Last season, he posted career lows of 9.7 points and 23.4 minutes per game. He also contributed 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from deep.

Prior to his contract extension, White's rookie scale deal was worth $24.1 million over four years.

Coby White's Career Earnings

By the conclusion of the 2023-24 NBA season, White is projected to have earned approximately $34.9 million from his NBA salary alone during his five-year tenure in the league, as per Spotrac data.

This sum does not factor in earnings from endorsements or account for deductions like taxes, agent commissions, and other business costs.

Looking forward, with his current contract with the Bulls set to end in 2026, White is anticipated to accumulate career earnings of about $59.8 million.

By that time, White would be 26 years old, and he could be in a prime position to secure an even more lucrative NBA deal assuming he remains healthy and continues to excel on the court.

Coby White's Salary 2023

In the 2023-24 NBA season, the first under his contract extension, White's reported salary stands at $11.1 million, as per HoopsHype data.

This marks an uptick from his earnings of $7.4 million in the previous season. Looking forward, White's income is anticipated to see a steady growth.

It is projected to rise to $12 million for the 2024-25 season and then reach its highest point at $12.8 million in the 2025-26 season, which is the final season of his present deal.
