The New England Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in their Week 1 clash, 25-21, and many questions were up in the air in that close loss.
In the eyes of pundits, some unusual coaching decisions were made in the game. One was going for it in the fourth and passed up two chances of kicking a field goal.
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick shed light on the fourth-down decision and said it was the best thing he could do under such circumstances when he spoke in the post-game interview via NBC Sports Boston's Patriots Coverage.
"If we kicked it I'm sure you'd be asking why he didn't go for it."

"Made the best decision we could at the time," Belichick told reporters. "Didn't know we would be down there multiple times. Six minutes to go in the game. I don't know. If we had kicked it, I'm sure you would be asking why didn't we go for it," the 71-year-old stated.
In all, it appears clear that the Patriots need to continue working on their offense, particularly in terms of consistency and execution, as pointed out by Belichick via Patriots.com.
"A lot of things we need to work on, do better, be more consistent," the Pats coach quipped. "Just better execution, better timing."
Despite the loss, the Patriots still saw some promise in their Week 1 matchup with the Eagles. Mac Jones showed promise, finishing with 316 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception, per Bleacher Report. Given time, New England could be in for a different and successful NFL season.
Aside from that, the Patriots managed to hold down Jalen Hurts, who was limited to 170 passing yards and a touchdown.
